Melba Rausch

Melba E. Rausch, nee Strickle, age 86, long-time Oak Park resident, passed away peacefully at home Friday, May 19, 2017. Melba was born in Chicago on October 11, 1930 to George and Josephine Strickle. She was a graduate of Morton East High School. Melba worked as a career counselor for many years. Although she was a working mother, her most important job was raising her three children. Melba was a devoted grandmother who cherished her time with her grandson. Melba is survived by her children William (Julie) Rausch, Laurie Rausch and Lissa Rausch, grandson, Jacob Rausch, sister Rosemarie Solin and brother George Strickle. Melba is preceded in death by her parents George and Josephine Strickle, brother Henry Yeager and sisters Marian Hahn, Lorraine Kluga and Grace Marsik. Melba will be missed but will live on in our hearts.  Funeral Wednesday, May 24, 10:30am Chapel Service at Kuratko-Nosek Funeral Home, 2447 S. DesPlaines Avenue, North Riverside.  Private Inurnment Bohemian National Cemetery.  Visitation Tuesday, 3:00pm-9:00pm.
