Mary Ann Hand of Brookfield, IL

Mary Ann Hand (nee Blazejak) 1935 – 2018

Age 83, died peacefully in her sleep at Sunrise Senior Living of Willowbrook on December 29th.  A Chicago area native, graduate of Mercy High School and a parishioner of St. Barbara’s Church in Brookfield for 47 years, Mary Ann was active in the Church and a very strong supporter.  She was an avid reader who enjoyed the pursuit of knowledge for its own sake.   Once her children were of school-age, Mary Ann held several positions on the night shift at LaGrange Memorial Hospital. She treasured the professional friendships created there and continued to meet at routine luncheons long after her tenure ended. At long last, Mary Ann rejoins her loving husband of 43 years, Harry, and beloved sister, Elizabeth (George) Maish,in eternal life. Her thoughtful guidance, friendship and love will be deeply missed by those who survive her: brothers John, William (Marcia), sister Geraldine (Leonard) Vavra, sister-in-law Anne, her children Kathleen, Kevin (Linda), Janet, Amy Wilhelm, and Edmund (Diane), grandchildren Nicholas, Eileen (Justin) Prybutok, Daniel, Megan, Michael and Caitlin and Christopher Wilhelm and many beloved nieces and nephews.

​Visitation will be Thursday, 1/3/19, from 5-9 p.m. at Kuratko-Nosek Funeral Home, 2447 S. Des Plaines Avenue, North Riverside Funeral Friday 1/4/19 9:15am prayers at the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. Mass celebrated at St. Barbara’s Church, 4008 Prairie Avenue, Brookfield.  Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 7200 Archer Avenue, Justice.
