Elsie B. Jankovsky, nee Rehor, age 97 of Peoria, formerly of Light House Point, Florida and North Riverside. Born August 31, 1912 on a farm near Kirwin, Kansas to Anton Rehor and Maria Potuzak Rehor. Elsie was the second of five daughters. She received her high school diploma in Kansas before coming to the Chicago area (Cicero) in the early 1930’s. She married Otto E. Jankovsky on June 6, 1936. They were married for 47 years before Otto passed away on November 21, 1983. They had one son, William (Bill), born July 26, 1942. In 1964, Elsie and Otto moved to Lighthouse Point, Florida, where Elsie resided for 44 years. She returned to Kansas and resided with her sister Martha for one year before returning to the Peoria area to be close to her immediate family.
Elsie passed away peacefully January 1, 2010. She is survived by her sister Martha, her son Bill and his wife Pat, 2 grandchildren, Kim and her husband Nik and Michael and his wife Susan. She is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren, Grace, Luke and Elle.
Besides being a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Elsie was known for her crocheting of Christmas items…snowflakes, angels and bells, which she sent as gifts to relatives and friends. She also loved boating, fishing, camping and all forms of traveling. Her son, grandchildren and friends enjoyed these activities with her.
