August J. Kmak, age 94, of Glen Ellyn, formerly of Sebastian, FL, and Stickney, U.S. Army WWII Veteran. Beloved husband of the late Barbara A. nee Kasper, loving father of Nancy (Jim) Berard, fond uncle and godfather to many. Gus worked at KEZ Construction as a pipefitter. After retiring to Florida, Gus was an enthusiastic volunteer at the McLarty Treasure Museum. In addition, he belonged to the Sebastian Mens Golf Club and Friends of Sebastian Inlet State Park. Gus also stayed quite busy playing golf, cards and games. Funeral Wednesday, July 10, 9:30am, from Kuratko-Nosek Funeral Home 2447 S. DesPlaines Ave., North Riverside to Mater Christi Church, Mass 10:00am. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Friends of Sebastian Inlet State Park Inc. c/o McLarty Treasure Museum 13180 North Highway A1A Vero Beach, FL would be appreciated.
