Alan G. Strunc

Alan George Strunc, formerly of North Riverside and Westchester. Retired high school teacher, Vietnam Veteran and avid fisherman, died peacefully on August 2, 2023 at the age of 80 after a years-long struggle with early onset dementia.

Alan completed his Master's Degree in education and taught for over 25 years at J. Sterling Morton High School in Berwyn, IL. He served his country in Vietnam from 1967-1969 and returned grateful he made it home.

His one true passion was spending every summer at his cabin in Northern Wisconsin, honing his fishing skills and winning a few Muskie tournaments along the way.

Alan was born to John and Angeline Strunc on May 22, 1943 and spent his childhood and school years in North Riverside, IL. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Carol (nee Huebner), loving stepfather of Robert (Stephanie) Metzger and Joanna (Carlos Torres) Metzger, cherished grandfather of Sebastian Torres, dear brother of Bruce Strunc, Paul (Betie) Strunc and the late Richard (late Judy) Strunc, fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.
